Age

Students are placed usually into the relevant year group according to their chronological age. In some cases this may be waived. Such a decision is made after a thorough assessment of the child, and talking to the child's parents and teachers in order to find the best possible placing.

Fast-Track English Courses

These are provided for children with a weaker command of Englsh to enable them to join mainstream classes, quickly.
students in the library The emphasis of our secondary school is on academic progress through the National Curriculum. This curriculum is modern, practical and covers a wide range of subjects. The main aim is to gain academic skills, not purely to remember a large volume of material. The curriculum is complemented by the UK examination system, available to our students within the school.

Our students take the International Cambridge examinations, whose AS/A2 level qualifications are the "gold standard" for worldwide university entrance. All our graduates go on to further education.

Our teachers are fully qualified and trained for the particular kind of professional teaching we do. The majority of core staff are British. We teach in small groups and give tuition on a personal level. Our students make very rapid progress across the broad range of subjects in this fertile English-language environment.

Within the same year group the school still provides further differentiation according to the students' various academic and English language levels to ensure the highest possible level of achievement by all of our students.

Up until the age of 16 all subjects are studied by each student. From Year 9 onwards there is a choice of language (French, German, Spanish). In Years 12 and 13 students choose subjects in which they have ability and interest. They are given help and guidance with their choices, with a view to possible university courses.
