The secondary department is long standing and has experienced much success over the years. When Hungary opened its doors to the West a few years ago one of the first Western institutions to arrive on the scene was an authentic British School, Britannica International School. We are proud to be the longest established British School in Hungary and the school continues to be wholly British owned and managed.

Originally seen by its founders as a school for diplomats' children and for children of other British expatriates employed in Hungary by international companies the school has widened its intake over the years to become home to a large multinational student body. Currently we number more than 40 nationalities amongst our students. The foundation of our educational programme is an enhanced version of the National Curriculum for England designed to reflect truly our international outlook.

We are proud of our record in public examinations and this is one of the features of the school that has attracted so many parents and students over the years. All lessons are differentiated and, in most cases, subject teaching is in small groups. There is a great deal of emphasis placed on practical work in most subjects. The school is dedicated to providing a stimulating and safe environment where the students WANT to learn.
